How does Kinesiology work?
Kinesiology is a natural therapy that uses muscle testing (biofeedback) to communicate with your subconscious mind and identify the underlying causes of any stress you may be holding. The stress may be physical, mental, emotional, biochemical or energetic.
Our muscles work as indicators of stress, as muscles feed into the central nervous system and the subconscious mind. When stress is identified and pressure is applied to an indicator muscle, the muscle will become weak, called switching. Kinesiology incorporates ‘Traditional Chinese Medicine’ where each muscle is related to a meridian and organ. This aids us in locating where in the body the stress is being held.
Throughout life our body keeps a record of every thought, emotion, pain or stress it has had to deal with, and through taping into the subconscious mind we are able to access and clear this memory.
Kinesiology allows us to pinpoint the underlying causes of an illness or issue, which when cleared will then allow the body to heal. Recommendations may be given regarding lifestyle, nutrition, environment, emotional and behavioral patterns that need to be addressed. Kinesiology works holistically to address imbalances and rebalance the body towards optimal health and wellbeing.
What to expect from a Kinesiology Session?
When you arrive at Sante for your initial consultation, we will do an intake assessment and talk through your current circumstances to determine what you would like to achieve from the session.
We will then ask you to remove your shoes (there is no need to remove any other clothing) and invite you to sit or lie on the treatment table.
We will do some noninvasive prechecks to assess hydration, brain switching, ionization etc., with the use of an indicator muscle on the arm. The indicator muscle feeds into the sub-conscious and will guide us through the session showing what your body needs to bring it back into balance.
Where there are multiple issues you would like to address, your body will take us to the priority stress that needs to be balanced in the first instance.
To balance the stress we will use the corrections that your body selects, some examples of these are holding acupressure points or emotional stress release points, lymphatic massage, meridian therapy, hypertonic muscle release and sound healing, among others. Your body is the guide!
What conditions can Kinesiology help with?
Kinesiology can help to identify and balance physical, emotional, mental, biochemical and energetic stress. It can help in supporting hormonal imbalances, fertility challenges, peri-menopause/menopause symptoms, stress, anxiety and depression, low energy, digestive issues, emotional overwhelm, pain and structural issues, immune conditions and much more.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for a Kinesiology session?
It is good to wear loose, comfortable clothing to a session so you can relax and move freely during the balance. Before the session it is good to spend a few minutes clarifying what you’d like to achieve from the session eg: less stress, better sleep, reduced tension or pain, more energy, improved focus, to feel more balanced mentally and emotionally. You can have multiple issues you would like to address, which we will be able to prioritise during the consultation through following your body’s feedback. It is good to drink some water beforehand, being hydrated supports energy flow and being open to the process is highly beneficial as it allows your body to communicate more freely and for the root causes come to light, not just surface symptoms.
How does an online Kinesiology session work?
Energy can be transported through space and time, which means that energy healing can take place even over a geographical distance. An online session will run much the same as an in person session but through video conferencing. For the first session we will complete an intake assessment and talk through your current circumstances to determine what you would like to achieve from the session. You will then be asked to make yourself comfortable, you may choose to sit or lie down, in view of the camera and the session will begin. The practitioner will act as a surrogate taking on your energy for the session and will talk through the stressors that are coming to light, the underlying issues and what the corrections are required to bring your energy back into balance. For some corrections you may be asked to hold certain acupressure points or chakra points, other corrections may be sound, light, affirmations and essences. The results of online sessions have been found to be as powerful as in person sessions.
How many Kinesiology sessions will I need?
Everybody is different and every body holds different levels of stress in a multitude of different ways. The number of sessions required to help remove blocks and bring the body back into balance varies, depending on the level of stress and the range of stressors identified. Usually, we would estimate an average of 3-5 sessions, however Kinesiology also works as a preventer of stress accumulating in the body, so regular “tune -up’s” can be highly beneficial.
What is Reiki, and how does it support healing?
Reiki is a gentle energy healing technique that promotes deep relaxation and calms the nervous system, through the channelling of healing (life force) energy through the hands of the practitioner to the client, to support the self healing capacity of the individual. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive, holistic practice that is especially supportive for emotional release, stress reduction, pain relief and spiritual connection. In a Reiki session you will lie fully clothed on the treatment table and throughout the 60 minute sessions the practitioner will use gentle hand movements around different parts of the body to get your energy moving and realigned. It can be common to experience tingling and warmth, see colours or images, have memories come to light, and even fall asleep. By the end of the session you should feel lighter and much more calm as the nervous system has been able to move from the fight or flight mode into a relaxed state.
How does Reiki II work?
Reiki II is absent, remote or distance healing and involves the practitioner sending energy across a distance using intention, visualisation and special Reiki symbols to connect with the recipient’s energy field. It is believed energy isn't limited by space or time, allowing for healing without physical touch. An initial phone consultation will help to tailor the session, identifying areas needing focus (physical pain, emotional stress, etc.). Then you will be free to go about your day while the practitioner sends energy to the different locations on the body (where hands would be placed in an Reiki I session) focusing on specific problems discussed. The practitioner will journal through the sessions the insights they are receiving. Post session the practitioner will call to discuss all that came up during the session.
What is Chakra Balancing?
Chakra balancing is an energy healing practiced focused on clearing and aligning the body’s seven main energy centres, known as chakras, to ensure the smooth flow of vital energy. When your chakras are balanced, you feel more emotionally stable, physically energised, mentally clear and spiritually connected. The term "chakra" (Sanskrit for "wheel") refers to spinning vortexes of energy located along the spine, each linked to specific organs, emotions, and functions. When energy flow is restricted or blocked (like a knot in a muscle), it can lead to emotional instability, physical symptoms, or a feeling of being "off". The goal is to gently open and harmonise these centres so energy (prana) flows freely, creating a state of contentment and vitality. In a Chakra Balancing session we will use Kinesiology muscles testing to locate and find the underlying issue related to each unbalanced Chakras. Corrections such as sound, chakra palming, acupressure points, essences and crystals will be used to bring the Chakra back into alignment.
Is Kinesiology, Reiki and Chakra Balancing safe during pregnancy or fertility treatments?
Yes—all are safe, non-invasive therapies that gently support your body during preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. Sessions will always be tailored to your unique needs and sensitivities.
